Welcome to the annual Commercial Heifer Show and Sale at the Calhoun County Fair. This year we are bringing you an outstanding set of commercial heifers both bred and open.
Our sale has moved to Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1:30 pm this year in order to make it easier for more buyers to be able to participate in our youth event.
All cattle have been raised locally, will be pregnancy checked and have all their vaccinations and papers current.
Make sure to come early as there will be a CEU class at 11.00 am given by Dr. Joe C. Paschal available for all to attend. The subject will be on “Raising Commercial Heifers in Tough Times”.
Dr. Joe C. Paschal is the Texas AgriLife Extension Livestock Specialist stationed at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Corpus Christi and is a member of the animal breeding and genetics section in the Department of Animal Science and of the graduate faculty at Texas A&M University.
Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon with BBQ and all the fixings. The Sale will follow at 1:30 pm after the meal so you will have plenty of time to review our outstanding set of cattle that these young ranchers have raised.
